Navigating the Dashboard

A quick tour of the Openda interface: search, datasets, orders, and account settings.

Getting Started

Your Home Base

When you log in to Openda, you’ll see the main dashboard. Here’s what each area does:

Search: Before start searching, you’ll need to create a Project. Inside the Project, you’ll have access to the central search interface where you query across Segmed’s imaging database. You can filter by modality (CT, MR, X-Ray, PET/CT, and more), body part, geographic source, manufacturers, and clinical keywords drawn from radiology reports. This is where most of your work begins.

Projects: A new top-level container that lets you group and manage related datasets together, so your work stays organized from the very start of a study through to delivery. Think of it as a shopping cart that persists: you can build datasets over multiple sessions, review them with your team, and refine before ordering. Before ordering, you need to request metadata and samples to retrieve the DICOMs and populate the metadata information from the DICOM headers.

Orders: Track the status of your data requests. Once you’ve finalized a dataset and submitted an order, you can follow its real-time progress here: from metadata review through to final DICOM delivery.

Account Settings: Manage your profile, organization details, and notification preferences.

Tip: If you’re evaluating Openda for the first time, we recommend starting with a broad search to get a feel for data availability, then narrowing your criteria from there.
