Health equity cannot be added at the end of a product. It has to start with the data.

PALO ALTO, Calif., October 6th: Segmed, Inc., a leader in real-world medical imaging data for research and AI development, today announced that it has been named a Quarterfinalist in the 2026 Digital Health & AI Awards in the AI + Access: Civic Health, Affordability, Access & Health Equity category.

The Digital Health Hub Foundation Awards recognize companies and innovations helping shape the future of healthcare. The annual competition brings together innovators from across digital health, AI and healthcare technology, with companies evaluated by leaders spanning healthcare, investment, technology, clinical care and other areas of the health ecosystem.

Segmed was recognized as quarterfinalist for its real-world data network, which connects more than 2,800 healthcare providers across all 50 U.S. states and five continents. The network gives biopharma, medical device and AI teams access to de-identified imaging studies linked to clinical records, pathology and outcomes, drawn from a population that reflects the patients those teams ultimately serve.

“Health equity cannot be added at the end of a product. It has to start with the data,” said Dr. Martin Willemink, Cofounder and Chief Scientific Officer of Segmed. “AI in healthcare will only be as fair as the data it learns from. Being named a Quarterfinalist in this category recognizes the work our team and our healthcare partners do to make that data available.”

“Each year, the Awards give us a front-row seat to the technologies, companies and leaders working to move healthcare forward,” said Mark H. Goldstein, Chairman of the Digital Health Hub Foundation. “Congratulations to our 2026 Quarterfinalists. We are excited to recognize their work and follow their progress as we move toward the Grand Finale at HLTH.”

Quarterfinalists will advance through the next stage of judging, with Finalists announced October 12, 2026. The competition will culminate at the Digital Health & AI Awards Grand Finale on November 16 at HLTH in Las Vegas, where the 2026 Rising Star and Best in Class winners will be announced live.
